The updates to the new Boston are substantial and the good news is they make this version of the Boston a much better shoe. First, there is more Lightstrike Pro in the forefoot for a much more responsive feel. Second, softer Lightstrike Pro 2.0 foam has been utilized in the heel for a softer ride. Finally, a new Energy Rod configuration has resulted in a more natural feel — the rods are made out of fiberglass and are more flexible. The Boston 12 now sports a wider forefoot for a more stable ride. A single-piece, lightweight, breathable upper has reduced the overall weight of the Boston. This is now a lightweight everyday trainer that is ideal for tempo work and can even fill-in on race day. The Boston 12 still has a Continental Rubber outsole for supreme traction and durability.
