Run Love, our free educational series, continues with "Injury Prevention & Rehab" alongside Dr. Alyssa Cappelletti on Sunday, June 23rd at Fleet Feet Austin's Downtown location.
Dr. Alyssa, Owner of FRWD Sports Therapy, will offer those in attendance a presentation on the differences between a traditional chiropractic and sports chiropractic, how overuse injuries occur and what we can do to prevent them.
Other topics covered will include (but not limited to):
Posture, injury prevention, overuse and acute injury remedies, incorporating strength, flexibility, mobility, when to seek professional treatment, signs when it's okay to return to regular activity or volume

After graduation, Dr. Cappelletti served as the Official Chiropractor for Rice University Athletics. She had the honor working with the student athletes at Rice that include: baseball, track and field, soccer, volleyball, golf, swimming, cheerleading, football, and tennis. Dr. Cappelletti also served as the Chiropractor for Houston Christian High School Athletes and treated tennis professionals at the Downtown Club at The Met in Houston.
Dr. Alyssa Cappelletti found a passion at a young age and began competing in female fitness competitions at the age of 16. Following her love for fitness and sports Dr. Cappelletti attended Ball State University in 2015 and received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Throughout her time at Ball State, Dr. Cappelletti learned corrective movement therapy and sport specific biomechanical analysis, which she uses to treat her patients and athletes. Following her passion and furthering her education in sports and fitness, Dr. Cappelletti attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where she graduated top of her class in 2022 .
Outside of work, Dr. Cappelletti is a regular at the gym and enjoys weightlifting. She also enjoys running, playing tennis, Pilates, and taking her dog Carson on adventures and spending time with her friends and family. Dr. Cappelletti utilizes techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, dry needling, overcompensation release, and chiropractic spinal and extremity adjustments. Her sessions include education on her vast knowledge in mobility, stability, and DNS (dynamic neuromuscular stabilization) movements.
