ABC Run #90 is October 6

What:  ABC Run/Walk #90 (ABC = Adventures Benefiting Children)

When:  Sunday October 6, at 8:00 a.m. (doors open at 7:30)

WhereSugar Grove Nature Center* (Thanks much to Angela Funk for letting us use Sugar Grove)

Why:  To benefit the children of Heartland Head Start.

Price:  Free – but donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.  Checks may be made payable to Heartland Head Start.

Courses:  The main course is a 7 mile loop course on roads.  You can turn this into a shorter course by turning around at any point.  The other option is to run the trails.  I’m hoping many adventurers will join me for a one hour trail run.

Amenities:  Water/Gatorade will be near the 3.5 mile point of the road course and at the Sugar Grove Nature Center.  Meg's coffee cake will be at the finish as well as water, coffee, bananas, and snack items provided by Heartland Head Start.  Bring something to share if you wish.

Questions:  Call Merlin 309-363-2854.

*Directions from Bloomington, IL to the Sugar Grove Nature Center (4532 N. 725 East Road):
Take I-55 South.
Take the Shirley exit (the first exit) #154.
Turn right at the top of the off-ramp, on County Road 34.
Turn left at the T-intersection onto Old Route 66.
Proceed approximately 4.5 miles to Funks Grove Road.  Turn right.
Proceed over railroad tracks, and take the first left.
At this point, there will be signs for Sugar Grove Nature Center.  Follow this road.
At the Dead End sign, continue straight.
The road will open up to prairie and you will see the nature center buildings on your right.
When you come to the gravel lane, turn right, and proceed to the parking lot.

p.s. Thanks to Julie Sibley for hosting a great ABC run/pool party on Sept. 8.  We raised $1686 for St. Jude (this includes Julie’s matching contribution).

The next ABC Runs will be:

ABC #91: Sunday, November 17 (still working on this one which will benefit a child that is suffering from life threatening medical problems).

ABC #92: Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lisa Sparks’ home, to benefit the Adopt-A-Family program.
