ABC Run #94 is February 15

What:  ABC Run/Walk #94 (ABC = Adventures Benefiting Children)

When:  Saturday Feb. 15, 8:00 a.m. (doors open 7:30)

Where:  The Children's Foundation, 403 South State Street, Bloomington (Directions: From Washington Street, turn South on Towanda Avenue, turn East on Grove, then South on State Street) For more info about The Children's Foundation, go to http://www.childrenshomeandaid.org

Benefits:  The Scott Early Learning Center    

The Scott Early Learning Center annually serves 200 McLean County children 6 weeks to 6 years of age. It serves families of all income levels, but currently 75% of all children qualify for some assistance.  Many of the children have been born in high-risk environments and face significant barriers to healthy development and learning.   It has been proven that there is a strong correlation between early education and future success in the classroom. A good quality early education can boost a child’s IQ as much as 10 points.  

Here are a couple examples of what a $30 donation can provide…

1) Arts and Crafts supplies for one activity each for 10 Learning Center classrooms,
2) One field trip for a classroom to the Children’s Discovery museum.  You can make a difference.

Cost:  Free – but donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. (Cash, or checks payable to The Children's Foundation)

Distances:  4  miles = total distance from The Children's Foundation to the triangle and back, or 8 miles = distance from the Children’s Foundation to GE Park & back.

Amenities:  Water/Gatorade will be at the triangle (in the shelter).  Food/drink at finish, including Meg's coffee cake.  Bring something to share if you wish.

p.s.  Thanks to all who made the Jan. 11 ABC run for Sugar Grove Nature Center a big success.  44 runners, $810 in donations doubled to $1,620 due to being part of a matching offer.

ABC#96 will be April ?? at/for The Baby Fold

ABC#97/Multi-sport will be May ?? at/for TimberPointe Outdoor Center (just assuming we will do this again)

ABC#98 will be June ?? for The Boys & Girls Club

ABC#99 will be July ?? for St. Jude

ABC#100 will be August?? for The Seedling Theatre  (#100 – this should be epic!!)

ABC#101 will be October ?? for Heartland Head Start

ABC#102 will be December ?? for Adopt-A-Family
