2nd Annual Run for Hope at Home Sweet Home

Bloomington, IL – The 2nd Annual Run For Hope 10K was a huge success for Home Sweet Home Ministries drawing over 240 participants and generating in excess of $11,000 in proceeds. These proceeds will support individuals challenged by homelessness and poverty through the programs and services at Home Sweet Home Ministries. The race took place Sunday, March 29, 2015. 2015 saw a 5K added to the 10K that was introduced in last year’s race. Home Sweet Home Ministries partners with Fleet Feet Sports Bloomington to put on this event.

“We are very excited to see this second year race be so well received by the running community,” shared Matt Drat, Development and Community Relations Manager at Home Sweet Home Ministries. “Despite the cold and rainy day, runners came out to race on a great course along the west end of the Constitution Trail.” The race began at Home Sweet Home Ministries’ Warehouse Operations, which is located at 1700 W. Washington St in Bloomington.

“We had a great runner turn out, and we had so many volunteers from the community that came and helped make this event a success. The partnership between Home Sweet Home and Fleet Feet is what helps make this event one that many runners look forward to. ” Julie Sibley, owner of Fleet Feet Sports Bloomington adds.
