Being a single mom of two girls, working several jobs, and putting the needs of others in front of my own for many years, there wasn’t a lot of time left in the day for me. Needless to say, I let myself go. I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition and high blood pressure. I would get out of breath just walking. But it wasn’t until my mom died that I realized I needed to make a change.
I started my weight loss/fitness journey at almost 240 lbs. Under Dan’s guidance and knowledge about health and physical fitness, I am now on my way to reaching my goal weight and - I hate to admit it - I am having fun doing it. It’s great to have someone support you on your journey while also keeping you on track. I have lost over 50 lbs so far and feel strong.
The personal attention, encouragement, praise and, of course, humor, at Horizon Personal Training and Nutrition Center has been exactly what I needed to keep me motivated. Working out has become the best part of my day.
It was because I committed to healthy living that I then needed to equip myself with the proper footwear to accomplish my goals. My niece is an avid runner so I asked her where I should go to get a good pair of sneakers. Without hesitation, she told me to go to Fleet Feet in West Hartford. She said that I wasn’t going to get a pair of shoes for $20.00 but that I would be extremely satisfied with what I did end up getting.
And she was right! I was really impressed with their customer service. They spent a good 30 + minutes with me, asking me questions, having me walk and run on a treadmill too. And my feet have thanked me ever since. Definitely will go back there and have recommended them to many of my friends.
