Blue Jean Mile for Mental Health
Thursday, May 19 at 6:30pm. How fast can you run a mile wearing a pair of blue jeans?
Fleet Feet Hartford, ASICS and the Thomas Hooker Brewery are partnering to host a Blue Jean Mile at the brewery to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Health - and infuse laughter and community into the lives of all who want to join in this fun event!
The mile run is FREE - but if you register and donate $10+ to NAMH through the registration site, ASICS will treat you to food and a cold beverage at the brewery post-run!
Register for this free run HERE.
This event was inspired by Johnny Gregorek, a professional runner sponsored by ASICS, who set out to break the world record in the Blue Jean Mile in 2020 in honor of his younger brother Patrick who lost his battle with mental illness at just 21 years old.
Johnny's goal was to raise $2,500 but the running community around the world rallied around him and helped him raise $37,000. He went on to break the world record, completing the mile in a blistering 4:06:25...while wearing his fav blue jeans!
Now, ASICS hosts Blue Jean Miles across the country to continue raising money for NAMH - and we are super excited about hosting one this year and hope you will join us!
The event will feature a flat, one-mile loop on the roads around the Thomas Hooker Brewery in Bloomfield. While this event will not be professionally timed, we will have a digital clock at the finish so you can see your time if you don't track it on your own watch/phone.
ASICS will be on-site with demo shoes for you to try as well as some swag and raffles.
