Meet & Run with Author Alison Mariella Désir

EightSixGo and Fleet Feet Hartford are excited to host a special Meet & Run with Alison Mariella Désir, endurance athlete, founder of Harlem Run and author of the book “Running While Black: Finding Freedom in a Sport That Wasn’t Built for Us.”

This special event begins with an opportunity to hear Désir talk about her book and what it means to be a Black runner , encountering racism and her quest to diversify the running community.

At 6pm, we'll head out for an optional run/walk before returning back to Semilla Cafe where Désir will sign copies of her book.

Due to the limited space in the cafe, priority access to the event will be given to those who purchase a VIP ticket via THIS LINK (tickets will include a copy of Désir's book, a beverage and being among the first group of people to have their books signed).

There will also be copies of the book for sale at the event - and if you have already purchase Désir's book, you are welcome to bring that with you to be autographed.
