2016 Urban Challenge!

It is with great excitement that we announce this year’s Urban Challenge – a unique scavenger hunt on the run throughout West Hartford Center & Blue Back Square. The fun takes place during the evening of Friday, November 4 and is family-friendly. You do not need to be fast or strong to play – in fact, creativity, resourcefulness and a sense of humor will probably serve you better!

This year, there will be two divisions: “regular” featuring teams of two – and “family” consisting of 4 members (must include at least one child). Registration fee is $25 per person and includes a souvenir oversized mug and post-race party. The mug will double as your bowl for an epic make-your-own sundae and ice cream float bar (featuring root beer…and Thomas Hooker beer!) during our after party.   

Teams will depart in three waves to ease the congestion at the various stops and must stay together at all times. The first wave will depart from Fleet Feet Sports at 6:15pm; Wave 2 at 6:30pm and Wave 3 at 6:45pm. All waves will have 45 minutes to complete as many challenges as possible to earn points.  

Teams must have a phone or digital camera as most challenges will require taking a photo as proof of completion for scoring purposes (all photos must be taken on the same camera). The teams with the highest point totals within the 45 minute time limit win prizes from HydroFlask – the most awesome insulated bottles that keep cold beverages cold for 24 hours and hot bevs hot for 6 hours. Prizes will also be awarded to teams with the best costumes.
