Women's Self Defense Workshop

Whether you are on a run, running errands, walking to your car after work or even relaxing at home, would you know how to defend yourself if someone made an attempt to grab you? What if the attack occurred while you were on a date, at a party or even at work?

Self-defense is a skill every woman needs to learn – and not just to foil an attack by a stranger, but also by a familiar face because sadly, women are more likely to be sexually assaulted by someone they know than a stranger.

Grab your girlfriends, mother, sister, daughter and celebrate International Women's Day with us at a special WAVE self-defense workshop on Friday, March 8 from 6-8pm at Thomas Hooker Brewery in Bloomfield

WAVE (Women Against Violence Everywhere) is an interactive and eye-opening educational self-defense class taught by expert Dominick Violante. Learn how to handle real life scenarios and protect yourself both inside and outside your home.

The class is limited to 100 women (ages 14+). The $30 registration fee includes the class and an after-party in the brewery’s tasting room. All proceeds from the event will be donated to a fund that brings the WAVE program to schools in Hartford so teenage girls can learn to protect themselves too.
