Veterans Salute Races

10K - Fun Run - 5K

2023 was a special year for our event.  The Veterans Salute started off our Saturday with a time to reflect, honor and remember our country's military - both past and present. With many Veterans in attendance, a total of 187 people gathered on a beautiful morning to exercise our freedoms (and our bodies) across several different courses. We like to dub Veterans Salute, the little race with a heart of gold, since we, as a community, are able to see our neighbors as they compete with their ruck sacks, high-five one another on the 2nd 10K lap, and all take an intentional moment as we pass the Salute Corridor. With the proceeds from this race, we are able to provide local organizations support. Mark your calendar for Saturday November 9, 2024 - we will see you again then!

Results & Awards - 

• Thanks to Total Race Solutions for our race day results.  
• Overall Results are posted in RunSignUp as well as on Total Race Solutions website.  If you find an issue with your results, please notify us immediately so we can correct it.
• You can check your individual results by entering your bib Here. 
• Team Awards ($50 Mellow Mushroom GC) for the fastest team with top 3 scoring have been awarded to team 'Phil 4:13'  in 10K and team 'Corryton Running Club' in 5K.  If you still have not received your GC, please contact us.
• Overall winners were emailed individually a $20 FFK coupon.
• Top 3 in each age group and all Ruck Competition participants were awarded a pair socks with their choice from Switwick or Feetures.  All socks not picked up at the race can be picked up at the store.

Shirts - 

• If you did not get your shirt and need to pick one up, please contact us.  We will keep some at the store before moving them to storage.
• Additional shirts can be obtained with a $10 donation (Cash or Venmo, preferred).  Let us know.

Pictures - 

• Thanks to our volunteer photographer, we were able to get a lot of good pictures both on the course and finishing

Volunteers - 

• It takes many to put on a successful race;  we are grateful and thankful for ours.
• Special thanks to the Bearden High School ROTC JR volunteers!

Donations -  

The support for our two charity partners continues with our monetary donations, as well as, collected non-perishable food donations:

• Wreaths Across America - This is an annual project of the United Veterans Council of East TN.  Our donation of $3,000 will help sponsor many of the wreaths for this year's ceremony.
• Mark your calendar for December 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Wreaths Across America will be at Knoxville National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.   

• Shepherd of Hope Food Pantry - A food pantry operated by the Faith Lutheran Church in Farragut - we have partnered with this organization for several years alongside this race, as well as, Hot to Trot races.  Our $1,000 donation will help them achieve their goal of supporting local families during the holiday season, along with the collected non-perishable food donations.
