Boise Betties: Join Us for the Runyan WOD
At Fleet Feet Meridian, we are all about supporting our local running community and coming together for a great cause. That's why we're thrilled to announce our participation in the upcoming Runyan WOD (workout of the day) hosted by the Boise Betties. This special event, taking place on July 18th, is a tribute to the memory and sacrifice of Army 1LT Michael Runyan, who tragically lost his life in Iraq on July 21, 2010.
Every year, Shaina, Michael's girlfriend, and his best friend Zach organize the Runyan WOD, rallying Crossfit Gyms, Running Clubs, and individuals from across the nation to join in this meaningful workout. And for the past two years, the inspiring members of the Betties have enthusiastically participated in the running portion of the WOD. This year we're excited to participate, and we want you to be a part of this experience too!
So mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 18th, set your alarm and meet us at the Borah High Track at 6am. This is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself, connect with fellow runners, and honor the memory of a true hero. Don't forget to invite any friends who might be interested in joining us!
But that's not all—alongside the workout, the Runyan WOD is offering some fantastic NEW hats that you can get your hands on. You have the option to choose between a performance hat or a booney hat, both available for just $22.50. The best part? Every single penny from the hat sales will be donated to charity.
This year, the Runyan WOD has chosen to support two incredible organizations: Warrior Expeditions and Team River Runner. Warrior Expeditions is a nonprofit outdoor therapy program that plays a crucial role in helping veterans transition from their wartime experience through long-distance outdoor expeditions. Team River Runner, on the other hand, is a national veteran and adaptive adventure paddle sports program that empowers veterans through outdoor activities.
If you're interested in showing your support, there are two ways you can contribute. First, you can head over to www.runyanwod.com to order a hat. Not only will you receive a stylish accessory, but you'll also be directly contributing to the charitable causes we're supporting. Alternatively, if hats aren't your thing, you can still make a donation on the website to make a difference in the lives of veterans.
We can't stress enough how meaningful and impactful the Runyan WOD is. It's a chance to join together as a community, honor a fallen hero, and make a positive impact on the lives of those who have served our country. So let's come together on July 18th, push our limits, and support for our veterans.
See you at the Borah High Track at 6am on Tuesday, July 18th. Let's run for a cause, run for our heroes, and run with our hearts.
