Community Outreach - The Next Generation

Fleet Feet Mount Pleasant/Summerville is excited to be a business partner with Beech Hill Elementary School in Summerville. Beech Hill focuses on empowering the whole child - mind, body and spirit. We have had the pleasure to participate in multiple events including their Academic Achievement Bowl and their Wednesday Early Release Day (WERD) running club! 

Each year, the school celebrates their high achievers on state testing with the All Star Academic Achievement Bowl. Fleet Feet provides the finish line arch for the students to run through as the teachers and parents cheer them on in their finest team gear! This event is a wonderful celebration of growth mindset and achieving what they put the effort towards. 

Lolli Haugh, our Community Outreach Coordinator, has also had the honor of being a mentor for the brand new WERD Running Club. This club was created for 3rd graders to learn about running both in form, safety and fun! Once a month, Mrs. Stephens, the director of the club and participant in our training programs, takes around 35 third graders and teach them important information about running and works with them on speed, pacing and more. The hope is for the club to expand to other grades and eventually become an after school program at Beech Hill. We love to be able to partner with and nurture the love of running in the next generation!
