Garmin Forerunner 235
By Suzanne Macaulay, FIT Specialist
I loved my Garmin Forerunner 220 and wore it every day for 2+ years, but when it literally fell off my wrist, I knew it was time to upgrade. I did a lot of research, looking at several brands and models of GPS devices. I finally decided on the Garmin Forerunner 235, and it was definitely the right choice! The 235 tracks the standard distance, pace, time, and calories burned. However, it also features wrist-based heart rate which is a very nice enhancement; I no longer need to remember (and fumble with) my chest strap when I want to track this metric. Additionally, the 235 is also an activity tracker and records my daily steps and sleep patterns. The feature I love the most about the 235 is the downloadable applications and watch faces from Garmin IQ. I downloaded a Tabata app and a hiking app and love both of them. The different watch faces are so much fun--I rotate between Mario Bros., Back to the Future, and Star Wars, which my kids think is super cool. I've had this watch just about a month now, and I don't know how I ran (and lived!) without it before!
