Commitment: 10 weeks (offered year round)
Current Fitness Level: ability to swim 50 yards without stopping
If you are looking to improve your swimming whether it be stroke refinement, endurance or speed this 10 week program will help you meet those goals. Each coached workout will help you with technique and increase endurance in the water. This class will be freestyle focused but will also introduce other strokes and drills to help you with stroke refinement. The class will also focus workouts based on your current fitness level to improve endurance and strength in the water.
Swim Program will return Fall 2015
Class Format: 1 weekly coached workout
- Thursdays, 7:30-8:30 for beginners; 8:30-9:30 for advanced
Requirements:
- The ability to swim 50 yards without stopping (2 lengths of a high school pool)
- Have a familiarity with lap swimming (you don't need to do this well)
- Open to the opportunity to learn different strokes other than freestyle
- Feel comfortable in the water
- Workouts staggered based on ability to increase endurance level of all participants
- Stroke refinement and technique drills
- Swim workouts catered to your ability
- 7 coached workouts with a knowledgeable and supportive coach
- Fleet Feet Sports swim cap
- Great camaraderie and friendship
