BUY A PAIR OF SHOES

Looking for good running shoe recommendations? Then, you've come to the right place. Running shoes are a runner's most important piece of equipment. Whether you're running your first mile or you're planning your latest marathon, there's nothing more important than finding the best running shoes.

So what are the best running shoes? It depends. To put it simply: There isn't one best pair of shoes for all runners. That's because every runner (and walker!) has their own needs.

Some people need wide shoes to accommodate their feet. Others will want extra cushioning to soak up the impact of running miles on pavement. Low arches? You might want improved stability. Getting into trail running? Well, there are shoes made to run on dirt.

BUY A PAIR OF SOCKS

Like picking out the best pair of running shoes, there isn’t one pair of running socks that will be best for everyone. Instead, you should choose your socks based on your foot shape, running habits and preferences.

If you are trail running, a pair of crew cut socks will help keep dirt and debris out of your shoe, but a shorter pair might be enough for road running. Some runners need a higher heel tab to prevent blisters on their Achilles tendon, and other runners want compression socks for during and after workouts.

Whatever running socks you choose, look for soft fabrics that wick sweat and dry quickly. You’ll also want socks that fit snugly to avoid bunching, which can cause blisters.

GET A PAIR OF INSOLES AT 50% OFF

What Are Insoles? All running shoes come with stock insoles—you can see yours by peeling it out of your shoes—that typically add another millimeter or two of cushioning. But aftermarket insoles give you more options. The insoles you can buy separately from your shoes give you different attributes than the stock insole. Some shoe inserts are rigid and supportive, and they’re shaped to influence your foot by providing arch support or other structure. Other insoles give you more cushioning in high-impact areas, like your heel and forefoot.

There isn't one best pair of insoles for every runner—it's all about preference. Some runners and walkers will find the standard insoles that come with their shoes deliver the right amount of cushion and support, but others will like the more customizable experience of a third-party insole. Whatever you choose, make sure it's comfortable for you.

Plus, you can swap them between your running shoes and your casual shoes for comfort wherever you go. Whether you're looking for a little extra cushion or more pronounced support, insoles for running shoes work with your sneakers for a more personalized ride.
