This version offers a dual density midsole — softer foam on the top with firmer foam on the bottom — that is the key to obtaining reliable support that does not interfere with the shoe’s soft feel and smooth ride. The key is an EVA film that is placed between the foams to prevent midsole shearing. Also contributing to stability is a new rocker geometry and a lower 6 millimeter drop for the shoe.
