Nike Zoom Fly 5

If you remember the first Zoom Fly as that firm, fast, speed-day shoe that introduced us to Nike’s plated shoe technology, the recent update might surprise you (in a good way). The main innovation, here, is the use of a full-length core of recycled Zoom X foam (Nike’s premier cushioning that achieves that ideal balance of soft and responsive) in an EVA carrier. Combined with a new plate, this provides a propulsive sensation, but not at the expense of being able to run easy. The Zoom Fly 5 has become that everyday cushioned (41/33 with an 8 mm drop) trainer that you can pick up the pace in. If you experienced a firmer (even harsher) ride in past models of the Zoom Fly, it is time to take another look — you will love it.
