Saucony Endorphin Pro 2
This June — starting with the Endorphin Pro on the first of the month — Saucony updates their highly successful Endorphin line, which helped to remove the guesswork in creating a shoe “quiver” when it was introduced last year. The Endorphin Shift was designed as a well-cushioned, structured everyday trainer that you could put a lot of miles on. The Endorphin Speed was designed as a tempo shoe, but runners immediately found it versatile enough to be used as an everyday trainer, as well as a racer. The Endorphin Pro was envisioned as the go-fast race day shoe for runners that wanted the explosive pop of a carbon-plated shoe on race day. All of the shoes in the Endorphin line were successful and contributed to a system that could logically take you from base training to race day. The good news is that none of the shoes in Saucony’s Endorphin line have been substantially changed and that is a good thing because all of these shoes worked.
The Endorphin Pro 2 still uses a carbon-plate with Speed Roll technology to propel you forward. The forefoot is firmer than some other carbon-plated racers on the market and this (depending on your specific gait cycle) can provide a bit more snap and pop on toe-off. Not much has changed since the previous version. There is a bit of extra lockdown in the configuration of the lacing. Otherwise, this shoe will feel very familiar to previous users. If you are looking to try a carbon-plated shoe for race day, check out the updated Saucony Endorphin Pro. If you have raced in this shoe in the past and need a new pair, you’re going to love the new checkered colorway.
