Lakes Park
- Best for: Scenic miles
- Starting Point: Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33908

Runners can start at any point on the Lakes Regional Park trail, a series of pathways spanning a freshwater lake which the park is named after, making it easy to customize your distance. The park is accessible from parking lots as well as adjacent neighborhoods. Follow the mixed path that winds around, between and over the waterways. Lakes Regional Park is a beautiful park with several lakes, lots of nature and breathtaking sunsets. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, and restrooms are available.
John Yarbrough Linear Park
- Best for: Long runs
- Starting Point: 14608 6 Mile Cypress Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33912
- Surface: Paved
- Distance: Up to 12 miles
The John Yarbrough Linear Park Trail is a six-mile, paved, multi-use trail. It runs six miles from north to south, so you can run out and back if you’re looking to get in up to 12 miles. The trail is well-shaded on the southernmost section.
This route has multiple access points, from the Six Mile Cypress Parkway to Colonial Boulevard. Daniels Parkway, Danley Drive and Crystal Drive offer access to the trail as well.
Public parking is available at the Six Mile Cypress Parkway trailhead, as well as restrooms, picnic pavilions, and even bike repair stations.
Jaycee Park
- Best for: Waterfront views
- Starting Point: 4215 SE 20th Pl, Cape Coral, FL 33904
- Surface: Mixed
- Distance: 3 miles
One of Cape Coral’s most popular park destinations, this 11.8-acre area boasts beautiful waterfront views and pathways. It’s also a great place to relax by the water after getting in some miles, or even take a dip to cool off.
Gordon River Greenway
- Best for: Wildlife observation
- Starting Point: 1596 Golden Gate Pkwy, Naples, FL 34105
- Surface: Mixed
- Distance: Up to 5 miles
This 2.5 mile pathway is a mixture of paved, mulch and boardwalk to give your legs and feet an adventure. Explore six different native plant communities as well as an abundance of wildlife. You may even see an alligator or bobcat on your run!
