Giving For Mother's Day: Trestle Trail Donation

Now through business close on Sunday, May 10, in lieu of Mother’s Day sales and other originally planned spring activities, Fleet Feet Sports will be donating a portion of all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday sales to several of the funds set up to support the families directly impacted by the Trestle Trail Bridge tragedy in Menasha on Sunday, May 3.

“This allows our entire team to be reminded that everything we do is about supporting our community. It’s fundamental to how we run our business. It’s why we do what we do,” says Owner, Jeremy Schapiro. “As parents and as business owners, it didn’t feel right to go on in the same way. It’s hard to think about Cinco de Mayo plans and promotional sales when a tragedy has just taken place in our community.”

As a fitness and health-minded business, the Fleet Feet Sports team is hearing from their customers that were also out enjoying the weather, many of whom were in that very area at some point over the weekend. “It’s tragic. And as a business, we have a responsibility to keep the emphasis what’s right and to be a catalyst for positivity. Whether people want to contribute directly to the cause or know that we are contributing on their behalf, they know they have choices. Perhaps they will get some good walking or running shoes in the process. A perfect excuse to walk the bridge in support of the community’s healing.”

The donation will be contributed by way of Community First Credit Union and Valley Funeral Home.
