Q: When did you start running?
A: I started running in 4th grade after my mom entered me into a local 1-mile race for charity and I ended up doing quite well! From there I ran during middle school, high school, and college.
What brought you to Fleet Feet?
My love for running and my need for a part-time job in college brought me to Fleet Feet just over a year ago.
What is your favorite distance?
My favorite distance has to be the mile, it's not too long but still long enough to where there are tactics and strategy involved and the opportunity for a strong move at the end to decide the entire race.
Do you have a nickname?
One nickname that follows me everywhere is GrantRunnin, which is my Instagram handle, as well as comically 'Mizuno Monster' coined by a collegiate teammate for my love of the brand Mizuno.
What is your favorite pre-race meal?
My favorite pre-race meal has to be a cinnamon honey stinger waffle, they just taste so good!
Do you have any running superstitions?
I definitely have running superstitions about feeling horrible on race day allowing for a great race. I'm always excited when my legs are sore and I don't feel well before a race because those always end up being the best ones.
What song is your go-to running jam?
My go-to song for running definitely has to be Emotion Sickness by Said the Sky.
Favorite thing about running?
My favorite thing about running is that it is something I can do for my entire life, to have fun, reduce stress, stay in shape, and explore the outdoors.
What is the one superpower you wish you had and why?
I wish I had the superpower of superhuman speed because as a runner of course I wish I could run super fast forever and get World Records and do all sorts of crazy things with running!
