Self Defense & Awareness Class
Free Self Defense & Awareness Class
Fleet Feet Sports Madison & Sun Prairie wants everyone safe while walking, running, training and enjoying the great outdoors. Unfortunately, we've all heard too many news stories in our own communities, and across the nation, where runner and walker safety has become a problem.
Fleet Feet has taught and encouraged self-awareness. We're taking this a step further by offering a FREE self-defense and awareness class on Saturday, September 24 at the Vilas Park Beach House (1501 Vilas Park Drive). The class will start at approximately 9:00 a.m. (immediately following our No Boundaries practice).
A local law enforcement officer, who is also a runner and IRONMAN competitor, will facilitate the class for us. The class is designed to make you more aware, prepared and ready for any situation that may occur at any given moment. The class will teach you how to avoid an altercation before it happens, as well as what to do in the event of an altercation. Keep in mind altercations can be with people, animals, vehicles and bikes. Demonstrations will be performed showing basic self-defense moves. Attendees will also be able to "test" their own moves!
Coach Susan is facilitating this class with law enforcement and would appreciate receiving a few things from you in advance of the class: (1) attendees will need to RSVP below as there are only 25 spots available, and (2) it would be helpful if you could submit your safety questions before the class in order to help use class time efficiently. Please submit your questions to susan@fleetfeetsunprairie.com.
Please don't hesitate to contact Susan with any questions or if you'd like to talk with her more about the class.
