Peter Johnston
Peter is a Memorial High School alum who participated in Cross Country, Swimming and Track. During his senior year he made it to state as an individual in Cross Country. He ran the mile and 2 mile in track and after high school attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he ran Cross Country and Track. During his senior year he made it to the D3 National Cross Country meet and earned All American honors. In college track he ran the 5k and 10k.
Advice: “I think the biggest lesson I learned during my years in running in high school and college was that you have to be patient and know that you are not going to be the best in the country, conference or team over night. It takes time and consistent training. I also learned to my body and understand when to take a rest day or to recover from a hard workout and run. There is a good quote that one of my coaches used to say, “It is better to be 90% strength and healthy than 100% present and hurt.”

Shannon Audretsch
Shannon attended St. Louis High School in Michigan and was a two time first team and two time honorable mention All-State selection in Cross Country, as well as a two time Honorable Mention All-State selection in track. Her events were the 5K in Cross Country, and the 800, 1600, 3200 and 3200 meter relay in track. Shannon attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale Michigan and ran the 3000, 5000, and 10K in Track, and 5k and 6K for Cross Country. She was All GLIAC team in 2004, ran the 6th fastest 6K in school history at the time, and was All GLIAC team honorable mention in 2006 for the 10K at the GLIAC championships.
Advice: Trust your training. If you put in the work, your body will respond. Don't be afraid to put it all out there either. You will never know how good you can be if you don't test your limits.
