Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk

Please join us at 9am on Saturday, May 31, 2025 for the first Tunnel to Towers 5K run/walk in Dane County. This nation-wide 5K series honors the heroic life of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after donning over 60 pounds of gear and running about 2 miles through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports our nation's first responder and military heroes through various programs including the Fallen First Responder Home Program, Gold Star Family Home Program, and Smart Home Program, among others.

A short opening ceremony will begin promptly at 9am with the 5K to follow at approximately 9:20am. The 5K route will begin and end at Veterans Memorial Park (209 N. Main Street, DeForest, WI 53532), a short drive from Madison and surrounding cities. The route follows the paved (and mostly flat) Yahara River Trail.
