New this fall, we are combining our 5k & 8k Training Programs for double the fun!
Join our iconic, fun, unintimidating program that has been a staple of Fleet Feet Montclair since 2008. This proven program has helped 5000+ athletes across the finish line of their goal race. We are thrilled to have the support and expertise of New Balance taking this program to the next level! The No Boundaries group will meet twice a week for 8 weeks. All participants will be provided with a weekly training plan and a support team that will help you walk, walk-run, or run across the finish line!
Whether you're a beginner looking to conquer your first race or have a little more running and walking experience and are aiming to push your limits, our tailored training programs are the perfect fit for you. The camaraderie of training with a group and experience of coaches and mentors week after week is an amazing motivator to get you to your goal. When the training gets more rigorous, you'll have the collective strength of the group to keep you moving forward. And on those early mornings when you just don't feel like getting out of bed, the training group will keep you accountable.
5K OR 8K, WHICH IS RIGHT FOR ME?
The 5k program is perfect for...
- Walkers, runners and interval run/walkers (don't know what this is, you'll learn!)
- Those looking to get in the practice of a weekly exercise routine
- Someone new to running & walking
- Those who have taken a long period of time off
- A person who loves the 3.1 mile distance
- First Class Mileage: 1 Mile
The 8k program is perfect for...
- Walkers, runners and run/walkers
- Anyone with a consistent running or walking routine of 1.5 - 3 miles, 3 times a week for about 2 months
- Those wanting to take the next step in your training with a bit longer distance or a bit faster pace
- Anyone wanting to start a new Thanksgiving Tradition
- First Class Mileage: 2 Miles
Both programs have a support team that will lead the following pace groups:
- All run
- 2 minute run, 1 minute walk intervals
- 1 minute run, 1 minute walk intervals
- All walk
We flex the pace groups depending on the needs of the program and participants.
WORKOUT TIMES & LOCATIONS
Training Months: October through November, 2024
- Kickoff Info Meeting: Wednesday, October 2nd, 6:30 pm
- First Training Morning: Saturday, October 5, at Fleet Feet, 7:30 am
- Wednesdays, 6:30 pm, Brookdale Park: Grit Work Days where we focus on building strength, speed,and fast-twitch muscles (first Wed. session October 9 )
