When asked what brought him to Charleston, Micah replied, "Upon completion of Basic Training I was assigned to Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA, followed by MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. I was fortunate to have Joint Base Charleston, SC as my last official duty station. My family and I moved here in 2011 after being assigned to the 1st Combat Camera Squadron. Assignments at the time were typically only four years, but my family and I fell in love with Charleston, so I volunteered to extend my time by an extra two years. Somehow, six years turned into nearly ten when I retired from Active Duty on January 1, 2021, after serving 20 years of honorable service."
We are so glad that Micah, his wife Kimberly and teenaged children Cadence and Ezekial fell in love with the area!
When not fitting customers at Fleet Feet, you can find Micah outdoors. He is an archer, a fisherman, and an all around outdoorsman. During the Spring and Summer he spends his free time kayak fishing Charleston’s waterways. During the Fall you can find him hanging 20-30 feet up a tree (if you can see him).
What Micah loves most about working at Fleet Feet is being part of a work family, interacting with and educating our community, and being part of a tribe.
A lifelong learner, he has a Bachelor’s of Science for Graphic Information Technology from Arizona State University, an Associate of Applied Science for Mass Communications from the Community College of the Air Force, and is currently working an Associate of Applied Science for Engineering Design Graphics at Trident Technical College.
When asked about any fun facts about himself Micah shared, "I fell in love with running my Freshman year of High School. I ran Cross-Country and Track until graduating in 2000. Outside of High School I never really felt the need to run competitively, instead just kept running for fun. My favorite place to run in the U.S. has always been the Bonneville Shoreline Trail near Salt Lake City, UT. I have been fortunate enough to have run within 31 states, 16 countries, and 4 continents."
