Join us for the 5th annual Power of the Giraffe 5K. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to help St. Louis Metro area cancer patients. The Power of the Giraffe provides financial assistance to people in need that are going through cancer treatments. In addition, the Power of the Giraffe also offers "Carol's Care Packages" through 16 St. Louis Metropolitan area hospitals and cancer centers. Carol's Care Packages are offered through St. Louis University Hospital, SSM Cancer Centers in St. Charles and Lake St. Louis, Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Hospital, Siteman Swansea, IL, Siteman South County, Siteman at Christian Northeast, Alton Memorial Hospital, OSF St. Anthony's Hospital, Anderson Hospital, St. Louis Children's Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Women and Children's Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL, Hope Lodge in St. Louis, MO and St. Lukes Cancer Care Center in Chesterfield, MO. Help us fulfill our mission of helping families rise above their fight with cancer. When you see a giraffe, stick your neck out and help someone in need.

- Race Day | starting at 8:00am | Alton Riverfront Park/Amphitheater
- Course | We start and finish next to the Alton Amphitheater. The course is a picturesque run on the levee next to the Mississippi River with the Alton Marina and the Lewis and Clark bridge in the background.
- Awards | Overall Male and Female will receive an award as well as Overall Child 15 & under and Overall Senior 60 & over. All 5K finishers will receive a finisher medal.
