Please join us in welcoming the newest members of our training department, Mandy Howard and Jennifer Murphy! To many of you, these are familiar faces, as both have roots that run deep within Fleet Feet Syracuse.
Mandy led our training department and distance programs from 2012-2017 before taking some time off to live and travel in her RV in many states across the country. "I have been all over the place and I can confidently say that Syracuse has the most dedicated, tough and supportive running community I've come across."
Jen is a triathlete and runner that trained under the leadership of Coach Brendan Jackson before his passing in 2017. Since then she has become a certified personal trainer, an Ironman finisher and a whiz in the kitchen, whipping up nourishing meals for the active body.
What Coaches Jen and Mandy have in common is the foundation of all things Fleet Feet training: Running is a team sport! They see the power in group training as it allows athletes of all skills and paces to push their limits to become the best they can be. At the end of each workout, long run or race, there is a team of coaches and fellow runners there to celebrate their successes.
All of us at Fleet Feet are looking forward to what these two strong women will create together. Their minds are brewing with fresh new workout ideas and a refocus on community runs and involvement, as those were the reasons they fell in love with Fleet Feet in the first place. And to top it all off, they both bartend on the side so if you happen to have a bad run, they would gladly mix you a delicious drink!
