Over 4 decades ago, two women named Elizabeth Jansen and Sally Edwards co-founded FFRC and made it about the spirit of running. And now we all get to be part of the club.
Fleet Feet Syracuse’s training programs, fun runs and series are now all part of Fleet Feet Running Club.
What is the criteria to join, you ask? You run, you walk, you move. Be it slow (or fast), long (or short), on roads (or trail), in the form of a triathlon (or cross-training), or for fun (or for PRs). The club is wholly about bringing people together who love the sport in any form and want to share that with others.
And as always, FFRC’s Training Programs are churning out the necessary workouts, recovery exercises, and training tips to help hundreds of fellow runners complete their first or fastest 5k, 10k, 13.1, or 26.2. The programs we offer are led by experienced and professional coaches, side by side with the support of volunteer mentors that keep participants both motivated and accountable. There is a place for everyone, no matter your fitness level or pace. The training is structured and specified to our athletes and provides a detailed road map towards your goals. The Programs:
- No Boundaries 5k Program - This 10-week running & walking program is for both beginners and those getting back into running. Our experienced coaches give you a training plan to meet your goals whether you are running or walking for the very first time, picking up an old routine, or looking to set a new PR. This group meets once a week; choose either Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings.
- Half Marathon Program - This 11-week program will help keep you accountable and prepare you for the 13.1 mile distance. The groups meets twice a week; Wednesday evenings for a speed workout and Sunday mornings for a long run.
- Marathon Program - This 14-week program will help keep you accountable and prepare you for the 26.2 mile distance.The groups meets twice a week; Wednesday evenings for a speed workout and Sunday mornings for a long run.
- Fleet Feet X-Training (FFXT) - FFXT is a strength and conditioning class designed to develop your physical strength and cardiovascular fitness. It is not a running program, although the workouts are designed with runners and triathletes in mind. The program meets Monday evenings in various locations.
- Trail Running Program - It's time to hit the trails with Fleet Feet Syracuse! This 9-week program is appropriate for all levels, including beginners. The group meets twice a week; Thursday evenings for "Skills, Drills & Thrills" and Sunday mornings for "Miles and Smiles."

Program Start: Wednesday January 8, 2025
Program Schedule: Wednesdays at 5:45pm at Willow Bay Park and Sundays at 8:00am at Fleet Feet in Dewitt
Goal Race:
Syracuse Half Marathon
Program Fee: $175 discounted rate. $190 after January 1st, 2025.
Description: This training program will get you ready to run the Syracuse Half Marathon! You will receive coaching at in-person group runs twice per week, a weekly email from your head coach with important training tips, and an online training schedule to follow for the duration of the program. Participants also receive access to our private Facebook group page with fellow runners and coaches to share tips, ask questions, and motivate one another with encouragement and funny memes.

Program Start: Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 5:45pm
Program Schedule: Wednesdays at 5:45pm and Sundays at 7:30 or 8am
Program Fee: $375 until December 18th, $399 after
Description: The annual program gives you access to all of our distance programs, helping you prepare for races such as Syracuse Half, Spring Half and Full Marathons, Mountain Goat, Boilermaker 15K, Fall Half and Full Marathons, or other races of your choosing. These programs cost $175 - $200 on their own so the Annual Membership is a huge savings if you are considering training with us all year long!
No Boundaries Winter 5K Training More Info »
Program Start: Tuesday, December 3rd or Saturday, December 7th
Program Schedule: Tuesday evenings @ 5:45pm at Fleet Feet Dewitt or Saturday mornings @ 8:30am at Onondaga Lake Parkway (playground entrance)
Goal Race:
Super Couch Potato 5K
Program Fee: Early bird pricing: $120 for 10 weeks, price increase to $130 on November 26th
Description: The No Boundaries program is designed for those with little to no running experience who would like to complete their first 5K road race. We also have a group for those who have already completed No Boundaries in the past, kids ages 8- 12 years old, as well as those interested in walking the 5K. It is a ten-week, training program that includes access to coaches throughout. Plan to incorporate three days of the provided workouts each week. You will start out with a combination of walking and running, with most participants able to run the full 5K race distance at the end of ten weeks.
2024-25 No Boundaries Annual Membership More Info »

Program Fee: $375 before November 26th, $399 after November 26th
Description: The annual program gives you access to all of our No Boundaries programs, helping you prepare for races such as the Super Couch Potato 5K,
Paige's Butterfly Run, Arc Race 5K, Baldwinsville Turkey Trot 5K, or other races of your choosing.
These programs cost $120 on their own so the Annual Plan is a huge savings if you are considering training with us all year long!
Fleet Feet X - Training (FFXT) More Info »
Program Start: Monday, January 6th @ 5:45pm
Program Schedule: Monday evenings at Fleet Feet Dewitt
Program Fee: $110 for 10 weeks
Description: FFXT is appropriate for athletes of ALL abilities, including runners, triathletes, and other active individuals looking to add a new element to their routine. A weekly strength and conditioning workout will help you to get stronger and leaner, and it adds diversity to your training. Each session will last approximately 60 minutes and will include warm-up, cool-down, group strength exercises, and conditioning drills.
Fleet Feet Racing Team More Info »
Program Start: January 1, 2024
Program Fee: $75 for new members, $30 to renew
Description: The Fleet Feet Racing Team is a USATF Sanctioned Club, comprised of adult runners and multi-sport athletes. Our athletes range in ability levels, but are all committed to training, racing, Fleet Feet and having FUN!
Anyone can join the Fleet Feet Racing Team. You do not have to be fast or run a particular distance or be a certain age. We just ask that you be dedicated to the sport, our store and the team.
Online registration for the Racing Team is now open. When you register for the Racing Team, your membership will be good for 12 months. After your first year on the team, you can renew your membership annually for just $30.
