Within 30-60 minutes following a hard workout or run, reach for a healthy snack with clean ingredients without sacrificing taste. For recovery and repair, it's best to consume a mix of carbs, proteins, healthy fats and sodium. This easy and addictive treat is my favorite post-workout go-to.
Peanut butter oat power balls (gf, df):
1 1/2 cups no sugar added peanut butter
1/2 cup organic honey (could use agave as a vegan option)
1 1/3 cup organic gluten free oats
1/2 cup plant based vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup mini dark chocolate chips (Enjoy Life brand are great)
1/2 cup gluten free organic rice crispy cereal (optional for a little crunch)
Pinch of sea salt
Mix all ingredients together and roll into one inch balls. Place on wax paper and refrigerate until hardened. Store in the fridge or freezer.
