September is the perfect month to start something new. After all, look at all the people starting a new school year. So we are doing something new as well when it comes to our newsletter. Each week will feature a different topic. This week we start with September is National Self-Care Month and National Recovery Month.
Self–Care Awareness Month in September is a time to remind us that taking care of ourselves, first and foremost, is essential. Self-care is often neglected in our everyday lives. We all tend to put others' needs before our own and it is crucial to remember, that we cannot fill another cup from our own empty vessel. While getting a massage or taking a walk are beautiful examples of taking time for our well-being, self-care can be more than that.
National Recovery Month in September provides a platform for services and professionals to educate the public about substance abuse treatments and mental health services. The entire month serves as a celebration of the steps taking to improve access, information, and treatment.
Our fall trail training program might be the self care you need.
The Saturday Sweat Sesh will showcase both self care and supporting Devin's Rec Room for Recovery Month.
