Mountain Goat Recap
It was an exciting and emotional weekend in Syracuse.
On Friday, May 5, the Mountain Goat Foundation installed a beautiful, nearly 12-foot-tall statue in Onondaga Park to commemorate the annual Mountain Goat Run. The statue sits on the race route, overlooking the city of Syracuse and also serves as the Mountain Goat Hall of Fame.
Congrats to 2017 inductees: Kevin Collins, Michelle LaFleur, Jerry Lawson, Charlene Lyford, William Nurk,
Walt Price and Mary Beth Roach.
The Syracuse Parks Conservancy has additional information and photos about the monument in Upper Onondaga Park.
More than 1,700 runners completed the 10-mile and relay race Sunday morning.
And all weekend, the CNY running community remembered Coach Brendan Jackson, who was a staple at the Goat and countless other local races.
