Raleigh Half Marathon Water Stop

The second annual Raleigh Half Marathon is next Saturday, February 22nd! Given the date--last year's event took place in April--this year's race should be a little bit cooler and more conducive to fast times. The course has also changed, taking place on the Crabtree Greenway Trail instead of the Neuse River Trail.

Like last year, we'll be hosting a water stop along the course, and we're looking for volunteers to help out! If you're someone who runs local races, this is a great way to give back to the running community and help others achieve their goals.

The race starts at 7:30. We're planning to arrive at 6:45 to set up. (All supplies should already be there.) The first runners should pass us heading out around 7:45. The last runners should come through on their second pass by about 10:30.

water stop 1

Our water stop is on Milburnie Road (see map below). We'll see the runners twice on the out-and-back course: first around mile 2.6, and again around mile 10.9.

The race director has said he thinks we'll be able to park on Milburnie, but if not, park in the CVS or Walgreens lot nearby. (Wear something bright and/or reflective for the walk from the car!)

What to bring: Dress appropriately for the weather. We'll have snacks and signs. Otherwise, just come ready to cheer!
