
While there's certainly no shortage of beautiful places to run or walk in town, sometimes you just need a change of scenery. We asked members of our community to share their favorite day trip-able destinations for trail running or hiking, with helpful tips and everything you need to know to plan a visit. All are within an approximate 3-hour drive from Raleigh. So throw some snacks in your day pack, fill up your water, and head out for an adventure!

Send us an email including: Trail/park name & location, estimated driving time from Raleigh (remember, these are day trips!), a general trail description with distance(s) and elevation, your suggested packing list, and any other fun facts or links that would be helpful to someone planning a trip.
