Sock Donation Run

The city of Raleigh is growing at a staggering rate; unfortunately, so is Raleigh's homeless population. Approximately 5,500 people were without stable housing at some point during the last year, and the number of affordable housing units has plummeted as housing costs skyrocket. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, over 980 people are homeless on any given night in Wake County, and around 30% are unsheltered.

While there's little we can do about the housing crisis, we can at least find small ways to help individuals experiencing homelessness feel more comfortable this winter. Join us on Saturday, January 25 for a group run to distribute socks from Feetures and Balega to some of Raleigh's homeless residents. The run will start at the Cameron Village Library; we'll head downtown and hand out socks as needed. All ages and paces are welcome. The run will last about an hour.
