Once in a Blue Moon Fun Run

Ever wonder where the saying "once in a blue moon" comes from and why its always in reference to things that happen infrequently? Turns out, blue moons are more common than most people think and they actually have nothing to do with the color of the moon, but the imperfect alignment of the lunar cycle with the calendar year resulting in an additional full moon every few years. Read more about it here. The next blue moon will occur on August 31st of this, and we're hoping to catch a glimpse of it. This blue moon is extra special because it's also a supermoon, meaning the moon will look even larger since it is closer to Earth. 

Come join us at our Village District location on the night of the the blue moon for a fun run to view this (somewhat) rare occurance. We'll head out from the store at 8pm and run to Boylan Bridge to get a picture of the moon. Then we'll head back to Goodberry's for a post run snack!
