Congratulations and Thank You

"Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts." - Dan Gable

What a wild ride this past month has been.  Countless numbers of St. Louisans beat our streets into submission during this fall's marathon and half marathon season, which culminates with this Sunday's SLTC St. Louis Half Marathon.  The raw tonnage of medals hauled away by the runners in our community is awe inspiring.  Congratulations to everyone who was involved in this amazing run of racing.  (Pun intended.).  If you were one of the courageous who had the courage to toe the line, you understand Dan Gable's quote.  The medals are nice, but it's the work, sweat, and struggle that they represent that adds to them more weight than the metal they are made of.   To the family and friends of those who competed, you were the support structure and strong shoulders that helped them reach for their goal.  And to the race volunteers, you are the unsung stars that allow everyone to chase their goals and dreams on race day.  Congratulations - and thank you - to each and every one of you for making this an incredibly uplifting and successful time of year.

FLEET FEET looks forward to helping make the next racing season a successful one, as well.  Stop by any one of our locations - or surf to our new Training website - to see our expanded array of programs and classes that are designed to help all St. Louis runners and walkers achieve their goals in 2014.

Good luck and happy racing!
