Eating is Training, Too
25 Years of Innovation | In 1989 Laura Vaughan was in the middle of the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run. Her father, Bill, watched his daughter struggle firsthand, and concluded that endurance athletes need a “portable, easily digestible and nutrient-rich” energy source. Bill, a biophysicist, created the first GU gel in 1992, which then fueled his daughter's win at the Wasatch 100 in Utah.
What questions do you have? | GU Energy Labs is driven to answer 3 questions: What to eat? When to eat? How much to eat? Now, you can get answers directly from an expert. GU's Jacob Geisler, holder of two degrees in Exercise Science and Nutrition, will host a free seminar this Thursday (7/26) at 6pm at our Des Peres location. To help us prepare, we request that you RSVP and submit any questions you may have about sports nutrition.
