FLEET FEET donates $15K to fight Cystic Fibrosis

On Tuesday, FLEET FEET owner Debby Spetnagel presented a check for $15,000 to the Gateway Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). Nicci Lowrey and Tom Burke accepted the donation on behalf of the Foundation. Nicci, CFF's Development Manager, responded, "...Knowing that running/walking is an essential part of any lifestyle, but especially beneficial for the lungs of a Cystic Fibrosis patient, your support aligns with what we are trying to accomplish through our active living fundraising events at CFF.  Thank you again for FLEET FEETs continued support of the CFF Gateway Chapter."

The donation was made possible by FLEET FEET's partnership with the rungevity Rock 'n' Roll St. Louis Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, and 5Ks, which in October attracted twelve thousand runners and walkers to Downtown St. Louis.  Rock 'n' Roll St. Louis came to life after FLEET FEET's Lewis & Clark Marathon and Half Marathon outgrew its St. Charles location after 2010's event and needed to move Downtown.  Every year, CFF supporters host several large water stops along the course.

In addition to benefiting CFF, race sponsor rungevity has raised $3.5 million for local charities via the race in just the past four years, with 100% of those funds going directly to charity.  That's more than any other local endurance race has raised in a similar period of time.
