- Upper: The upper features Topo’s signature fit of a roomy toe box with a secure midfoot and heel. Topo also redesigned the Terraventure 4 with even more room in the toe box. The mesh on the forefoot is closely woven for abrasion resistance and protection, while a more open mesh pattern in the midfoot improves drainage and breathability.
- Midsole: An EVA foam midsole is balanced and cushioned enough for thru-hikes and trail runs, but still gives you plenty of ground feel.
- Outsole: The Terraventure 4 features a Vibram® Megagrip outsole that gives you a ton of traction, grip and durability. There is also a Flexible ESS rock plate that protects against bruising caused by sharp rocks and roots.

The updates to the Topo Terraventure 4 make this an even better shoe for everyone from quick trail runners to steady thru-hikers. Topo listened to customer feedback and put more volume in the forefoot to accommodate those wiggly toes and give you more stability on uneven terrain. They improved the drainage with two different meshes: a tighter more protective mesh in the forefoot, and a midfoot mesh that allows for better drainage and breathability. Overall, this shoe is lighter than the previous version to keep you going strong.
Who It’s Best For
The Topo Terraventure 4 is great for short to mid-distance runs on technical terrain. It is ideal for runs 10 miles and under, but many fans of this trail shoe have gone farther. It is also a favorite of thru-hikers since it is grippy, lightweight and durable.
