The heel is the biggest change in the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 v12. They moved away from the flexible, flared Ultra Heel and put in a more traditional, padded heel collar. New Balance also fine tuned the cushioning, weight and flexibility in the new 1080 v12 so it performs better when running.

Marathon shoe
New Balance is a great shoe for those with wider feet. 1080 is a great shoe with ample cushion for a marathon runner. For those with arch issues this shoe is roomy enough to place inserts and does not rub blisters. Highly recommend!

Why I didn't keep them.
They were very comfortable but I had to return them because my left heel was slipping. I love New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080's. This is my favorite shoe. Sad that the v12 didn't work for me.

took my feet awhile to get used to them but now I think they are great. I would not run a marathon in these but they are good for long runs and everyday training.

Reliable comfortable shoe
The 1080 is my go to favorite. This is my 4th pair but first for version 12. I’m a neutral runner and currently running about 30 miles per week training for a marathon. Cushioned and comfortable. Will continue to buy the 1080 in the future.

Ran small
The only reason i gave it 3 stars is they were to small. I read a lot of reviews that said that they were running larger than normal so I ordered a 1/2 smaller. I had went to a lical store that sold the same shoe and tried on the size I needed and it fit. So I ordered the 9 1/2. Doesn't make sense. I will be sending them back. I love New Balance but I cant wear a shoe thats to short.

Nice cushioning!
I recently purchased these NB 1080v12 shoes and really like the comfort and cushioning. I am on my feet all day for work and these work great. As suggested I did order the shoes one size smaller than my regular size and that worked out great.
