Oak Park boasts a rich tapestry of history and culture, dating back to its establishment in the 1830s. Known for its architectural significance, the town features a plethora of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed homes and structures, showcasing the Prairie School style. Additionally, Oak Park served as the residence of renowned author Ernest Hemingway during his formative years, adding to its literary heritage and allure.
Opening April 2015, Fleet Feet Oak Park continues a proud tradition of exceptional customer service and community started by Competitive Foot in the same space in 1974. Owned and operated locally by Dave and Lisa Zimmer, Fleet Feet set out on a mission to spread the mission of fitness and the power of running in Oak Park. The store itself is a tribute to the art-deco past of Marion Street and downtown Oak Park, utilizing the original flooring from the 1920’s to vintage fixtures and doors.
