Cap Tappers
Cap Tappers is celebrating its 10th year in 2024! Every Monday for 10 years straight at least 1 mile has been ran on Monday to "keep the streak alive!" Following the run we enjoy a beer (not required) and each others company. Every Monday has a different $5 pint special. Our goal has always been, and will always be, to be a just a laid back social running club. We refer to our runs as shakeout runs since most traditional training plans don't have anything structured on a Monday and more often than not our runners had a race over the weekend or there long run on Sunday. There are many Mondays we refer to as "Medal Mondays" to encourage our runners to show off and talk about their bling from the weekend.
There are no steps or fees to join Cap Tappers and only 1 unnegotiable requirement- no drama! We welcome everyone!
Claimstake Run Crew
Claimstake Run Crew brings a weekly running group to Rancho Cordova and of course it's out of Claimstake Brewing. Claimstake Brewing is what we call THE running brewery of Sacramento. Claimstake is owned by Brian and Tine Palmer and Mike Ryan. Mike is one of legacy members of our very own CIM, he has run every single one of them! His daughter Tina is now a 3 time finisher of CIM along with her SF marathon and Honolulu Marathon finishes. Owner and brewer Brian Palmer can be found along the course supporting Tina at every marathon. CIM is so intertwined with the brewery that in the early years they had to close on that Sunday because all of the employees were running. These days they're open on CIM Sunday but the yearly post CIM celebration continues.

The club has evolved to be inclusive of various ages, running paces, and interests. Davis is a college town so we welcome new faces. We like socializing after workouts and hosting events such as summer BBQs and holiday parties.
If you are looking for a group where you can find people to motivate you to reach your goals, are new to the area looking for a place to meet new, friendly people, or want to give back to the running community through volunteerism, GVH is the club for you. Come check us out for a group run and see for yourself. GVH fundraises for local high school cross-country teams, supports the mile 65 Western States 100-mile race aid station, and paces for Davis half-marathons.
