The newest version has been fine-tuned to help your runs feel energetic, soft and effortless, making it one of the best running shoes out there.
So whether you are training for your first 5K or putting in high-mileage weeks, the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 v13 will make each run more fun.
Features
- Upper: A completely new upper gives you a plush and luxurious feel with a stretchy mesh that has zonal structure and support to feel great on your foot. There is also a gusseted tongue to wrap around your feet and keep you secure.
- Midsole: A lighter, softer and more energetic Fresh Foam X with Bio Eva cushioning has been elevated to help you perform your best. An updated rocker profile makes transitions smoother and toe-offs more energetic. The forefoot is more responsive and a bit more structured than previous versions to help those miles roll by.
- Outsole: NDurance rubber outsole is durable to keep up with your mileage. New Balance made it a little thinner to reduce the overall weight of the shoe and keep you ticking off those miles.

What’s New
New Balance elevated the Fresh Foam X 1080 v13 to make your daily runs easier. A new Fresh Foam X compound is lighter and softer, while giving you more pop so your feet don’t sink into the shoe. A new midsole geometry rolls you forward for smoother transitions and gives you energetic toe-offs. The result is a reduced heel-to-toe drop from 8 mm in the v12 to 6 mm in the latest version.
A new mesh upper feels plush on your feet. It is a little stretchy, yet has zonal structure to keep your foot locked in over that cushioning and provide more structure and support. New Balance also thinned out the rubber coverage on the bottom of the shoe to decrease the weight.

Reviews
Never received
I never received my order. I waited for 7 days to be told that my order was cancelled because they did not have the size in the color thar I ordered. Needless to say I was very disappointed! My feet were in heaven when I tried them on.
Most comfortable shoes I ever had
Very comfortable shoes. Great to exercise in. Love the bright blue color
Running on clouds
Love these shoes forever a NB girl. I got them in two colors!
Did not work for me
Very uncomfortable hurt my feet.May work for someone else foot type unfortunatelyDid not work for mine
Shoes had been worn
Returning the shoes since they had been previously worn. There was no tissue in the shoes they were laced up and the bottoms were gray.
Not recommended
They felt great when I tried them on in the store and when I wore them for short periods of time; however my feet seem to progressively start to hurt more and more when I wore them for a long time.
Granddaughter loves them
These were for my granddaughter. She picked the out online. She loves them says they are so comfortable
Great cushion and wide toe box!
Love the support/cushion. Toe box is great for those with wide feet. The white sides of the shoe creases easily but not super noticeable.
Wanted to make this my go-to shoe but....
I was looking forward to this shoe based on the reviews. I truly liked the fit and ride of this shoe. Foam was as described cushioned with a bit of pop!To my disappointment the lateral outsole wore down like a soft eraser. After three short runs I was getting close to the midsole.I have used both the v11 and 12 both of which showed much better outsole durability. I would happily take the extra weight for longer outsole wear given the price of the shoe.
